How to Cleanse and Charge:
Cleanse by leaving in a bowl of salt water overnight.
By smudging with Sage or Palo Santo, hold in smoke for 30-60 seconds while setting the intention of cleansing the amethyst. 
Use a singing bowl or chime, sound vibrations will help to cleanse and energise your crystal.
 
Charge by putting in direct sunlight for a few hours (careful though as this will cause the amethyst to fade), put your amethyst out in the moonlight overnight with no risk of fading.
Or place your amethyst on a clear quartz cluster which will help to amplify and charge the energy of your crystal.
